Since 1998 Tag Richards has committed his life to creating a sculpture of Sacajawea and her child Pomp. The result is a nurturing pose, which was inspired by a quiet moment between mother and child from November of 1805. The work is designed to honor her people, the Lemhi Shoshone. Many obstacles had to be overcome in order for the piece to arrive at its present state. The art seeks a home that will respect and honor the Lemhi People particularly, and including all Native individuals around the globe.
